Situated
on one of the oldest wine farms in Bellville, the Oude Westhof
Farmhouse dates back to 1886. Even earlier in 1862 the Van
Riebeeckshof Mineral Water Company bottled water from the
two permanent fountains on the grounds. After decades of
neglect this charming farmhouse has been restored and stands
proudly at the bottom of Kanonkop, just north of the Tygerberg
Nature Reserve.
With
the assistance of experts and the National Heritage Council
this beautiful farmhouse was lovingly restored to its present
condition. The building's three very old oak trees have
been listed as a national heritage.
Slatterys
Irish Bar & Bistro is placed on one of the most beautiful
and interesting sites, offering us all the opportunity to
take a step back in time and enjoy our heritage.
